My only thought is this ...
If using those kinds of images doesn't hurt their sales, it says some negative things about who is buying.

At this point, anyone can create images of anything they can dream up. I was playing with ChatGTP a while back and got this ancient Roman coin with my dog as emperor.

That's pretty cool, Bump (and a bit frightening)!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Quote: way above my capabilities... I want to reassure you that if I can do this - anyone can. There is no special skill involved other than "fine tuning" your request in ChatGTP. I would suggest you go onto that site and play around. You don't have to have a paid version to do this, but you do need to set up a free account. All I did was upload a photo of an ancient coin and a photo of my dog and told the program to create the coin with my suggested legend. A few minutes later, this popped up. It's fun to tinker around, but it can also be addictive - I have to be sure not to stay too long on that site...

It is easy. We built an AI Text-to-Speech server* to create recordings that sound like the lady who does our recordings because she is retiring this year. No one can tell the difference. * Really just a desktop PC with a hefty GPU.

This is an interesting topic and the more we go on, the more we will need to talk about it. It's gonna be a nightmare! On another forum I go to, folks even simply retouched their photos with AI to make them look more presentable (example: instructing AI to brighten the image a bit, crop, center, etc). This resulted in slightly altered images .. as an example an extra denticles on the rim and stuff like that. This will create pics of never before seen variants and if collectors won't be able to recognise AI altered pics, it's gonna be a real mess. To this point, one wonders if we should just aim to recognise AI images and block them or warn users.

I'm not a fan of the AI proliferation. it's spread to everywhere now, like a virus. it's in text, it's in pictures, it's in video, it's in sound.
i spent most of my life as an artist. AI junk makes me nauseous. seeing pix of AI-generated coins makes me surly and actually makes stuff by Picasso & Braque look good. (barf)
i tend to treat AI stuff the way I treat my narcissist neighbor: no contact.
