Here's a BIG note for you... a whopping 400x288mm.  I searched the internet and got a hit pretty easily. The sad thing is, it costs over $3000.  2025 Burundi 10000 Francs 400x288mm N-460545   |

Is that note faded? Or does it look that way from lighting? A bit of both. I suspect it's a bit faded but I played with the lighting a bit to reduce the creases and stains!  Here's another big note - 1949 Bank of England Five Pounds:  This note measures 211 x 133mm. The famous Bank of England "White Fivers" retained virtually the same design from the 18th century until 1956, and were finally demonetised in 1961 (though they are still exchangeable for face value at the Bank of England). The reverse side is blank. It's amazing that the Bank of England was still using these large, old-fashioned notes in the late 1950s when most other countries (including Scotland) had smaller, more colorful and more user-friendly notes of the equivalent or higher face value. |
