However, think it's better suited to "colonial coins". Would you pls move it again?

Important: I have zero expertise in colonial coins and tokens.

Boy, it's hard to say. The missing denticles, uneven lettering, and crude details would make me worried that it's just a replica.

However, the letters in George have almost exactly the same voids and bumps as this certified VF specimen:

I'm definitely suspicious, have you weighed it? What does the edge look like?

Not far out from this...

I guess...and this is just me...
For the amount of $$ I've pi$$ed away on coin grading...
What's another *Rarities $300 (+1% GP) to have PCGS look at him?
I'm not sure what the grading fee would be if he came back unauthenticated?
I guess it comes down to "risk and reward"?
I'll tell you what...
I'll split the grading fees with you for half the in (our coin) with the coin...?
Let me know what you think?

It could be a cast replica or electrotype, but I'd run it by a few of the better colonial guys before investing in the money to have it authenticated. I don't know if you do facebook, but some of them are in a colonial coins and artifacts group there.

Interesting read. I was not aware of this Colonial pattern piece until now. An exciting and valuable possibility if authentic.

I look forward to reading how this works out.

Any chance of photos of the edge? Could be an electrotype. But I agree it sure looks the part of a real specimen.

that looks like a seam around the edge, my guess is that it is an electrotype copy. Could also be cast, but the seam clinches it for me as a copy.
