At 3:06 EDST, ATS showed "Zero" and the e-commerce site shows " Sold Out" and "Not Available." ATS at 10:20 EDST was 3,306.

We should learn next week (from the Mint's Weekly Sales Reporting) if "Sold Out" was the mintage limit of 15,000 or something less. . .as the product page informed us: Quote:
The product will be available to be ordered during an order window, which will close on September 4, 2026, and orders are expected to begin shipping by September 28, 2026. The medal will be produced to demand based on the orders received during this window. No additional medals will be produced. There was no HOL; I'd wager Penske Corp ordered as many as they wanted for their promotional purposes. Edited by cptbilly

Today's edition of Coin News included this snippet re: the Race Medal: Quote:
Freedom 250 Race Medal Leads Returning Products
Outside the new releases, the Freedom 250 Race Medal led returning products with a gain of 3,181 to 11,423. The $60 half dollar-sized medal celebrates America's 250th anniversary and the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix while also honoring motorsports pioneer Roger Penske.
It was offered during a limited preorder window that closed Sept. 4. |
