Date is completely wrong, the 1's should be basically capital I's with stubby triangular serifs, whereas these 1s have a triangular flag on top and well defined rectangular serifs at bottom. Also, some of the drapery looks out of shape, at least from what I can tell from the pics. Probably a complete fake from counterfeit dies. A refund is definitely the move here.

I agree the date if off. Can we get a close up of the date?

Definitely counterfeit. The date is wrong. Hopefully you can get your money back on it.

Interesting counterfeit as the font style in the 1 was not used until the recessed date in 1925. The counterfeiter took the font style from a later date and put it on the pedestal design.

So this coin came from a so-called "Coin Show Dealer" This so-called dealer should be pointed out so others don't fall for this !

I fully intend to if he does not own up. He is a legit dealer afaik. He is out at the PAN coin show in Monroeville, Pa this weekend.

I wouldn't cast aspersions on the dealer just yet. I'm sure plenty of honest dealers offer counterfeits that slip through every now and then without their knowledge.
