Hello all. Was going through some loose rolls of cents that I picked up on way home from work and finding some common ones from the 40s and 50s. Then this one caught my eye, let out a big yell when I double checked it under magnification. It took at least an hour for me to calm down. It has some damage on the reverse, otherwise a high grade example of a 1955 Double Die. Thanks for reading. MM2

There are counterfeits out there, so it's worth getting authenticated.

I will eventually submit it for authentication. How is the 55 counterfeited? I don't know how to make the pic larger. If anyone can do it for me, it would be great appreciated. Thank you.

Did you find it out of a roll of wheats? Or did you find it out of a normal bank roll?

Whatever the case, that is one heck of a find!

It's worth sending to a TPG for authentication. It will only get a "details" grade due to the damaged reverse, but it's still worth quite a chunk of change even in that condition!

Found out of a normal bank roll. I never even considered the possibility of a counterfeit though.

Even if this is a counterfeit, it should still worth a few $, but better to be genuine of course.

I would show it to few dealers and ask for their opinions.
