Miscut-1972-$5--Note--Value?

Miscut-1972-$5--Note--Value?

Just picked up this beauty in a trade with a local antique dealer. I don't know much about error notes, what are these valued at?

I would put that one at $125 in UNC.

Unfortunately it isn't UNC, there is a small tear at the top :(
Here is a better picture of the error

With the small tear and the rounded corners...I would put a cash value of about $40-$60 dollars. Still a premium bill not often found.

I think if you were to auction the note off on ebay, you could get at least $100-$150 in that condition. Error notes don't come up for sale too often, so people tend to pay a higher premium when one does come up for sale.

I dont think it will fetch more then $60 due to the fact that it doesn't have that "wow factor" that other errors have. Would be a fun one to watch and bid on lol.
None the less its a beauty.

Local antique store bought a collection from a widow, he calls me. I trade a silver maple leaf plus $15 for this note, a UNC no serial 1967 centennial $1, a 1972 $1 2 digit radar, and 1923 shinplaster.

I would have done it just for the $5. The other notes are just bonus. 2 Digit radars are not often seen.
Good Stuff!
