Spotted these last Friday and thought it strange to have such coins ending in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday when the masses would still be at work. Anyway threw the minimum bid down on it and thought about it for awhile and decided win or not I placed a maximum I was willing to pay. As I thought, there wasn't much interest at that time of the day and won it with only 1 other bid.

Opinions on grade would be appreciated, I don't expect too much, my budget collection is mostly VF up to 1960 while most of my early 1858-1920 silver decimals are lucky to be G6 to F12 as fits my budget. So this purchase as well as a recent 1945 dollar which I will post after it arrives are significant purchases for me. Well let me know what you think - thanks

Hi lucv13, Welcome to the Forum..

Good pickup, they look AU-50 or so and, for a bit over $100.00 each, great buy.

Wow thanks for the welcome and the high grade estimate, a little better than I was expecting. I've learned quite a bit here in the last little while going through the threads...

Hey thanks for the replies, I appreciate the comments, I kinda thought that the first response was a little optimistic. I was kind of hoping that the better of the 2 coins was a vf but I can live with f15

Good to find another forum where people are still posting through the night (I'm a midnight worker)

I wasn't planning on keeping both but my post count isn't high enough to initiate sales without breaking rules here

The ebay pictures made them look like they were cleaned in a solvent or something, but they look much better in your pictures. I wouldn't have even bid on them, but it looks like you did OK in the end :)
