There's no printing there, but if you hold it up to the light you should see the watermark image of Alexander Hamilton (assuming it's a $10). If there's no watermark, then it is likely counterfeit.
Someone asked me to authenticate a $10 bill a couple of years ago. The lack of a watermark in this area was my first clue that it was fake. The lack of a security strip was my second. But the clincher was looking at it under magnification to see the dithering of the inkjet printing.
