For those of you that are using subject items, how do you mount them, plumb and level, to take coin pictures if using a<$300 A-stand setup or a copy stand ?
Do you use double sided tape?
Mount to a heavy base plate or to the stage plate?
My system has a goniometer at the bottom, Then X-stage, Y-stage, Z-stage, all bolted together. The goniometer is double-stick taped to the stand base.
I have other systems that are mounted differently. For the B&L A-stand type of system, I sometimes will drill holes in the stage plate and directly hard-mount the stages to the plate.
You have to mount these things pretty sturdily or they move around, negating their function.
