Strange Uniface Deer Stag Shell Token / Charm

It was labeled as a silver oblation from India, but it does not resemble any other temple tokens I could find on the internet. It's 28mm and 1.8g. It's struck uniface like a shellcard. If anyone has seen similar and has information on origin, use or age it would be greatly appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

I do agree that it is unlike the other temple tokens that I have seen before. It seems more like jewelry (button cover?) than a coin/token to me, but I really can't help you on this one. The best I came up with is that it is of a similar construction to silver pathri amulets on northern India. As a long shot, it might represent the Hindu god Rohit. Although it might be a Kashmir Stag, or it may be one of Santa's reindeers. As far as age, I have no idea. If anyone has any other ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
