I'm looking at a coin that has a pretty significant price change between grades. AU55 is $235, AU58 is $300 and MS63 is $475 according to a pricing guide. I'm leaning towards an AU58 example as the AU55s and AU53s dont have eye appeal. From a collection standpoint, I have been targeting XF45 to MS64 depending on price. I think the AU58 is fairly graded by the
TPG.
What do you do when pricing jumps significantly between grades? I could keep searching for a better AU55 than is currently available or make the jump to AU58. MS63 would be significantly graded above coins in the collection for the date range.
