I have three 1967 P LMC's with one appearing to have die chips of some sort on the tie and front of the coat. That isn't what is striking me, the three different beard styles does. It may very well be from die wear but they are all three distinctive in their own ways. Also the three necklines are different as well. Could this be from an over polished die to get rid of a clash or could this be from a design change? Insight please.
Remember Jim, that the 64-68's were designed from very worn working hubs, and in subsequent hubbings using an old with a very old master hub would create a group of dissimilar monsters. Was why in 69 the whole master working hub was redesigned. Check out how dies are made, the process of hubbing master hubs, working hubs and working dies.
