1952 P (No Mint Mark) Dime Error - Coin Community Forum

4Jewels New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 03/03/2019 9:09 pm Please view and give insight... 1952 P ( no mint mark) Dime.... Roosevelt forgot to comb his hair... Looks like an error to me but would like some opinions .... I have looked around for a comparison but only found 1952 P Dime with a "Horn" - which I am guessing the strand of hair is what they are calling a horn... Please tell me thoughts and HOW it was made. USSID18 Pillar of the Community 5464 Posts	Posted 03/03/2019 9:17 pm It's either a die crack (mint error/spiked head) or a hit ( PMD) from being damaged after it left the mint. I can't really tell from here. It's a silver dime. There was no "P" mint mark on that 1952 coin. Report this Post to the Staff

That 1952 Dime is 90% Silver. Someone may be willing to pay a 10C premium for that odd shaped crack. It's worth maybe ~$1.30 Report this Post to the Staff

I will try to get a closer picture for viewing. I know there wasn't a mint mark although while looking for a comparison I noticed the coin was listed has a P or no mint mark....so I listed it as both. I am learning, so all information is helpful!
