Tinalinky New Member United States 36 Posts	Posted 06/04/2019 5:13 pm Found 2 interesting coins on my quest to go through some of these Wheaties today. One was a 1884 Indian Head and then this 1956 Silver colored coin. It does stick to a magnet but very weak. It weighs 3.19. Just read some post about a science project. So that's probably it. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/05/2019 5:43 pm Some may wonder why the plating is peeling off the coin. The coin was not prepare correctly. If it was done to make is very shiny, they would buff the coin until it was clean and probably wipe it again. Then plate it with copper, then a coating of steel and a third layer of chrome. That would look as shiny as a chromed wheel then. Just a single layer on dirty coin will not last. Report this Post to the Staff
