Cherrypicked an NGC MS-66 1942-D/D RPM-012 off ebay for $21. Nice coin, and when I got it in hand it's EDS (Wexler Stage A). As such, it shows the mint mark quite well.

So VV has it as D/D southeast. CC has it as D/D southeast. Wexler goes one step further and calls it D/D/D southeast, tilted.

But really seems like there is one more D in there to the north, showing as a vertical bar from the top left and a curve inside the mint mark.

How many do you see?

Finally, the kind of error I like. When you don't need arrows or a scanning electron microscope to see! !

Three for sure and the slight bar above the D may be a fourth. Beautiful cent.
