merclover Bedrock of the Community United States 10635 Posts	Posted 01/11/2020 03:12 am To me, the obverse looks terrible. If it is just scratches on the plastic holder, it looks unsightly. So would you break it out? I don't know... to me, it looks like the coin itself has been harshly cleaned. On top of all this, to me, no returns is a deal breaker specially with the questions that surround this dime. There are many other 23-S Mercs out there, so why fuss with this one? Pass. If you think the coin has been harshly cleaned, are you saying you feel ANACS made a mistake here? I'd be interested to see where these "many other" 23-S specimens are; with a full strike and original surfaces in high AU grade...I'm not finding them.
