Roman Provincial Orichalcum Quadrans? (Edited Post)

gerio2 Valued Member United Kingdom 112 Posts	Posted 12/10/2021 4:57 pm Very poor quality but I enjoy the chase. Since first posting this I've been researching... The tripod is a clue - there are numerous examples in Greek and Roman coinage - but the latter all/mostly seem to be in Roman provincial coins (E. Empire) Its brassy - orichalcum - which was only used in coinage by Rome late republic to (according to once source) 161 AD. Not later. One responder so far has suggested its a quadrans and I have been able to confirm that quadrans in orichalcum exist. So... A Roman provincial quadrans sometime in the 1st or 2nd cent AD. Does that make sense? Diameter: 11-13mm (varies) Weight: 1.8 grams Brass? One long shot included because tracing faint outlines is sometimes easier when its not a close-up.
