We are just about at 48 hours, but without a single guess (thanks anyway to @jbuck for the engagement), I feel strange revealing the grade. I will extend this one a bit.

I don't mind being wrong. How about MS-65.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Thanks, everyone. Acquiring this coin is a bit surreal for me. A guy from my favorite local shop in my hometown attended a show and saw this beauty. Knowing I was looking for an amazing Mexican Pillar type coin, he texted me the true view and a video. I said I would be very interested. A week later I see the same coin making rounds on Instagram, knowing it was on its way to me. The strike isn't perfect, especially on some of the peripheral lettering, and most importantly to me, the western side of the western globe, but it's sharp enough on the rest of the globes to offer a deep appreciation for this beautiful design. And the surfaces, while dark, have gorgeous toning and what looks like original luster. The guy at my local coin shop told me it is without exception the best Pillar 8 Reales coin he has ever seen. I feel lucky to have this coin.
