Sounds like a great show, Barry!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

It is! It's the one show I go to every year and every year I am able to find enough stuff to completely blow my budget for the year.

Count on it, Jbuck! Who knows, I may even be able to snag a high-end 1972 Eisenhower Type 2 Reverse...

I go to this show every year. 100+ tables. Great variety: US and world coins, bullion, ancients, a few tables with banknotes too. Also a couple of coin clubs set up and show off some nice collections like one that has a great display of Barbers.
But you gotta get there early. I know it says the show is open till 7 on Friday but most dealers are gone by 3 or 4. And Saturday they're gone by 2PM. Give yourself lots of time, get there early, and have fun.
Also, bring some cash. A few years ago the ATM in the hotel lobby ran empty!
PS: the show is out in the 'burbs but at let there's lot of free parking.

Dealers leaving early really gets my goat. They want to beat traffic. The only way you can beat traffic is staying home.

Eons ago, when dinosaurs roamed and I was a teenage kid cutting his teeth in the weird shadowy world of buyer's agents, I drove across the country solo to catch the Bay State Show. That was in the late 1960s. I caught it several times from then to the 1980s and brought back many beautiful coins for my clients. Absolutely fantastic show, great location, great selection, and a lot of knowledgeable dealers. Those were good times! Your post on this show brought back many of those good memories. Best wishes to all for a great show.
