I only pay what I'd call "big money" for notes that were issued by countries that never issued their own coinage. My current record is AU$291.41 including shipping to Australia for my Texas "redback" $5. I payed about 17 euros for a pre euro Finnish 100 markkaa coin which I pulled out from a ATM 10-15 years ago. When they introduced euro in 2002 I saved all the Finnish markka banknotes except 500 and 1000 markkaa notes (too much money in the piece of papers...). I have paid $400+ (Canadian) for notes in my collection.
I am looking for a specific note, and it will cost me over $1,500 (Canadian) Its a Canadian 1954 Devils Head Replacement Note VF condition.
