In the RedBook it states that the 1992d Close AM was from proof dies. Does anyone know if all the proof dies were made with the Close AM? I have a 1992s Wide AM in my proof set. The book doesn't state anything for the 1992s as it does for the 1998s and the 1999s. Maybe someone with a 1992 proof set can look and see if the am is close or wide. Thanks
Mike, don't know alot about coins but ya made me look at mine. It also has the Wide AM so I don't believe we have the only two. Chances are they were made that way.
Thanks for taking a look stmpcol. Looks like they used the Wide AM for the proofs. I wonder where the Close AM dies came into play. The business strike has the Wide AM also. Have to keep looking on the net. Maybe I'll come across that info somewhere.
I believe that the 1992d Close AM came from the new 1993 business strike dies at end of year. Transition coin. It appears rare to date. I believe that proofs as mentioned used both types. Gusp
