cwb Pillar of the Community United States 3463 Posts	Posted 07/20/2015 2:22 pm If a photo of a coin is taken at a slight angle, it is difficult to match it with a photo that was taken straight on. To do a proper overlay, both images need to be shot from the same angle. I think this is an issue when trying to do overlays that are very close but don't match perfectly. If you can determine which direction the lighting is, then you can copy the same light direction. Note these differences of light angles: Look at these images to see if they are from the same die? The image can be found here: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=mds I am still thinking that this looks like a 73 - I even think I see 2 tiny die scratches moving SE from the 9.
