I agree I can make out some of the letter in the date 12?. It's not an ancient or medieval coin.

The date looks like AH1223 year 17. The size is about right for a one Para coin. It looks like Egypt KM 161. The first picture doesn't match the coins from that time from the Ottoman Empire ("Turkey") (see KM 578).
