Hi, I got this 1922-D cent and want to know if this would qualify as a "weak D". I also like the wood grain toning on the lower half of the obverse. Please let me know your opinions. The best part is that it was sitting in a local dealers bucket 'o wheats and my cost.... 6 cents.

Thanks!

Wow the dealer dropped the ball on that one. Either way, it's at least around $16 in G-4 according to Coin Prices. Nice cherrypick!

This looks like a normal 22-D to me. I recently found two 22-Ds.. an thought they were both weak. After posting here I found out they were both worn down regular 22-Ds.

On the "weak D" version... it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to see the D from what I can tell. On the "no D", it is nonexistant.

Since I can see the D clearly in the first picture my guess is that it is normal.

...but I am no expert so don't discount it, yet.

Well, for 6 cents you can't go wrong! The pics are pretty blurry, but it looks to be a nice example of a 22D.
