Technically speaking, the rim issue happened/was caused pre strike or during strike, not post strike, this shouldn't affect the grade (except in eye appeal, if said grader/graders choose to do so). 1918-d had problematic strikes. IMO, yours exhibits a striking issue. Heck, the PCGS plate coin @MS67 has weakly formed rims not unlike this one. If the 18-d was known to be well struck, I could see this affecting the grade more drastically, but it's not. Bottom line.. PCGS saw something we didn't or they decided to grade a bit harsh. It's all just an opinion. Play the crack out game again. You may pull another MS62 or you may pull the 64.you're at the mercy of someone else's opinion. Nice coin nonetheless. I would much much rather have this coin in my dansco than a lot of 64s I have seen over the year. If it were not for the rim, I think I might have gone for a 65. I really liked this coin!
