So tell us why you think it is worth a sticker. Grade it at a 45

I appreciate you taking a guess and it's also because it's one of the best looking examples I've seen in this particular Grade... It's 80% Horn showing and the Buffalos back looks great as well.
On the obverse the feathers looks detailed and the cheek and chin also look nicely defined..
After a few more opinions, I'll tell what Grade it received.

It's definitely 3 Legs and I will reveal the grade in 30 minutes from now. I'm hoping to get a little more advice on grade. Thanks again Folks..

Anyone else think it's CAC worthy? Thanks you for any and all positive advice!

I would say yes; another way to say it is "authentic."

Alright, thank you! I have another question, CAC Sticker or send it for a regrade, and hope for a higher grade? Which would make it worth more? I would assume an XF-40 but someone showed me Grey sheet that the CAC Sticker is worth more, is that correct?

You know I've been looking for a nice reasonable example for over a year now but there are a few more respected members I'd like to hear from until then here's my thoughts, I put it at 40 because of the knot on the braid, feathers and the buffs horn, at 35 I feel it has a high likelihood of getting a green bean. So if CAC still holds to the rule; pay if it stickers and no charge if it doesn't. then go for it.

You have to take Greysheet with a grain of salt and solid research of your own. There are lots of coins in any series that technically make the grade given by the TPG but are otherwise lacking eye appeal (also subjective). In this case a VF35 with a green bean may sell for a higher price than some XF40s without a bean, but certainly won't beat them all. Otherwise, your coin looks very nice, but not a series I collect, so going to pass on the grade question and whether a bean might apply. Ps, maybe get it reholdered into a fresh scratch free case before sending to CAC. Edit: after taking a look at phtograde and all of the 35 & 40 1937-D graded plate coins at PCGS, I'm going to say it is fairly graded at VF35. Again, not my series. Also, photos are a little fuzzy and not helped by all of the hairlines in the holder. Hopefully Fort Collins will come along and give it a proper evaluation.

Thanks a lot for a thorough, educated and honest opinion Adam! All educated opinions are welcome!
I'm 60/40 leaning towards sending it for a hopeful Green Bean...
I also thinking it'll look even better in hand than what these pictures indicate.

I've never considered that silly sticker as adding value.

Nice coin. The 1937-D three-leg is one of the more difficult coins to grade because both dies are heavily abraded, the abraded dies emulate circulation wear on mid-grade coins, and all three major TPGs approach the grading differently. Your coin has an average strike for the variety. It is a mid die state coin that was struck after the second die polishing severed the third feather. It clearly is a nice upper mid-grade example. The obverse shows more detail on the second feather and hair braids than most VF-35 examples. The second feather rachis and calamus are nearly complete and the braids have more separation than a VF-35. The weakness on the lower feathers and ribbons and the "floating" third feather are due to the die clash polishing. By itself, the obverse should make EF-40. The reverse is consistent with VF-35. The clash polishing was more severe on the reverse. Technical grading cannot focus on the buffalo's head, horn, upper back, foreleg, or rear legs for obvious reasons. For borderline VF-35/Ef-40 coins, that largely leaves the buffalo's flank and the four points of rim contact as the distinction. This is where I strongly part company with PCGS. If the buffalo's head, tail, the "F" of FIVE, and "S" of CENTS are starting to merge into the rim, the coin should grade as VF. Here, the head is just separated and the "S" of CENTS is close, but minimally separated. The tail has started to merge, and the "F" of FIVE is merged. IMHO, this is a VF-35/EF-40 bubble coin. If they ever adopt my wished-for intermediate grades (F-18, VF-38, and especially EF-48), this coin would be a poster coin for VF-38. In the absence of a VF-38 grading level, the reverse has to be considered VF-35. On balance, given current grading levels, this currently is a high end VF-35. The first TPG to adopt VF-38 as a grade level wins, and this coin would notch in at that grade. PCGS frequently bumps these coins to EF-40, wrongly. (They regularly undergrade F-15 and VF-20 Buffs and regularly overgrade VF-35 Buffs.) NGC struggles in general with grading mid-grade abraded die variety Buffs. ANACS currently does the best job grading Buffs, effectively differentiating among strike, die wear, clash polishing, and circulation wear. (That wasn't always the case with ANACS, and their older grades for Buffs are an adventure.) Again, nice coin and a great example of the variety.

Excellent guys and Thank you very much for the knowledge FC, I really do appreciate it! I'm gonna send it off as soon as possible and hope for a Potential Green Bean after that thorough explanation! I think it's worth the risk... Especially, since I'm almost certain that it'll look even better than what these pictures show. I also love the idea of adding an in between Grades for the TPG!
