Has anyone reported yet the existence of Counterfeit 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters with the 4th of July privy? There are some questionable ebay auctions that I'm seeing. The sellers have little or no ebay feedback, their cities/location are not identified, and the coins in the auctions have an unnatural look about them. They shine, but don't have a "cartwheel" appearance. Maybe it's just me, but the situation appears questionable. Here's a photo of what is being sold. Thoughts?  |

The coin pictured here looks pretty normal and ligit considering the amount of lighting hitting it while it was photographed.
And there has not been any reports of counterfeiting
However, the intense public focus on the limited-edition release of these coins has generated plenty of confusion and online rumors.

That is clearly an AI generated image.
Fine details are where AI still struggles and the top of "th" in 4th are perfect examples, as is the center bar in E, the R and M in EPU.
Also, on the original obverse design IBUS is partially obscured at the bottom by Jefferson's head but here you see can where the AI tried to squeeze it all onto the field, distorting it clearly.

Hi Dearborn. I thought we could not post ebay links here. Since posting my question, the seller has received negative feedback from buyers stating coins they bought from the seller were counterfeit. By the way, here is a different seller (or maybe the same on with a different username) who is selling what appears to be fake 2026 privy quarter coins. The coin pictured just does not seem "right." Notice that the coin on the white fabric background and in the 2x2 shows the bottom of IBUS obscured by the top of Jefferson's head, which is the correct design. |

yes it does - I'm just about done with on line purchases completely what all the garbage on the Bay and the stupid high prices at the mint, I'm getting really 'put off' with it all. Time to start traveling and seeing coins in hand at coin stores or shows. just say'in |

236984200121Not a counterfeit per se, but one heck of a visual misrepresentation. This was buried in four selling categories on ebay. Ended up going for 70$ to someone that is most likely gonna be awfully disappointed when it's delivered.
