Hopefully this is in the proper forum. I just saw BOOK and went with it....... https://www.greysheet.com/ https://www.greysheet.com/publicati...ns-blue-bookI recently got these in email about the sale of the 2027 Red and Blue Books. Just wondering your opinions on them. What exactly do you use them for? Are they reliable for prices, and/or for how long as I've read and heard where they lose reliability the day they are produced. And I can never remember which is which - is it RED for collectors and BLUE for Dealers? And is that Buying or Selling, or Both? Cain't wait to read your replies!  |

Red is the collector's edition. As for the quoted prices, I've heard that "red is retail and blue is wholesale".
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The prices is both are actually not terrible, are they 100% accurate? Not really but they are in the ball park. Use them as a guide, something like grey sheet is a better bet for dealer pricing but grey sheet is expensive.

The Red Book is an excellent source of information about U.S. coinage. A bit of history, some grading information, mintage numbers, etc. Information on nearly all, if not all U.S, coin series, a must have for collectors. Now that the Red Book is part of the Greysheet publishing network, their prices are fairly accurate for the retail market at the time of publication. |

So what are the main reason these books are being sold? Seems more like just a collectable? Seems with all the information on the internet that you can access with your phone who would really use them?

Take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt, who is the author, what is the source? Something like the red book/blue book are written by professionals and vetted by an editorial staff. I would trust the red/blue book more than a random person on the internet. Edited by hfjacinto
