Hi,

I have this Colombia 1882 10 Cent that seems to have an overdate. Would anyone know what this might be? The underlying characters seem to be larger than the date that was stamped over it.

It looks like the second 8 was re-cut over a 5? But that doesn;t make any sense to me unless it was a mistake being re-engraved.

Something strange happened to all the numbers.

The whole date was re-punched on the reused die? So that one re-punched number would not stand out. And on being re-punched the 188 moved a little up and left?
