Yes Sally, I keep all sorts of minor errors as well as the valuable ones. 20 cent wave gaps, faint double bar 50 cent coins, die chips, minor die fills etc. They are a fascinating and thought-provoking addition to a date collection. I especially like die clashed coins and rotation errors. Here are a few new additions from this weeks noodling.         The first con is a counterfeit $2 The second is a proof $1 that somehow found its way into circulation. The last 2 are commemorative tokens which were in 20c Armaguard rolls. |

Sounds like I am collecting the same oddities that you are Spider. Those were great examples. I thought those commemorative tokens were interesting finds. I have found a couple of car wash tokens while noodling but they aren't as interesting as the tokens you have. The photo below shows my collection of 2002 $1 year of the Outback oddities. The top row from left to right is Cud near date, stamped "7", "S" and "M" counterstamps. The rest are "C" mintmarks.  |

But wait! .... There's more! The pic below is my collection of $1 coins that were issued in proof condition but found their way into circulation. Circulation has not been kind to them but I couldn't send them back (did I say I was a fruit loop?). I like them because they are out of the ordinary and theoretically should not be found in circulation. Perfect for adding to an "Odds and Sods" collection anyway. There are 16 x 1984, 2 x 1985, 4 x 1987, 6 x 1989, 4 x 1990, 4 x 1991, 1 x 1994, 1 x 1995, 1 x 1997 and 1 x 2000. That means a lot of really nice sets were broken up and wasted sadly.  |

Here are a few more coins that weren't meant for circulation but have ended up in my "Odds and Sods" collection. 1997 $1 Kingsford Smith type 1 coins. 2 x " A", 1 x ""B" and the rest "C" mintmarks. Again, sad that the original sets were broken up but they make interesting additions to my collection.  |
