2011 D Glacier Quarter Missing Copper Layer?

It appeared to be a silver quarter or maybe a foreign coin until I plucked it out. There is no sign of a copper layer at all. Weight is 5.73 g, which is a little heavy, but well within tolerance. Google says there were no foreign coins and no silver coins produced at the Denver mint in 2011. Report this Post to the Staff

Dearborn Moderator United States 102432 Posts	Posted Today 4H 52M ago Looks like it was plated. the core of a quarter is copper, if that was missing then the coin would be extremely thin and the weight would be very light. not heavy as you reported. and just the opposite If the clad layer was missing, then the edge would be a copper color not this silvery one.
