Love the Reverse on this Morgan, it's too bad the Obverse brings it to an MS64

Some pretty good "hits" on the obverse keeps this at 62 to these old eyes of mine.

With my Quick Scroll Grading, I put it at 62 but figure NGC labeled it due to the reverse

Odee this is actually a pretty nice 99 (P). although you can find them with sharp strikes, it is difficult to find nice examples that are not all marked up. the reverse strike is exceptional on her and is a solid MS65 and with that neck and breast its pretty close to a 66.

the most distracting of hits is on the jaw. there is a small amount of gold toning on the periphery but not enough to add to the eye appeal

i think the reverse helps this one and i'd give her a MS64 grade

I agree with panzaldi, this is a nice coin for an 1899.

The obverse looks like a tossup between MS-62 and MS-63, and may be in the elusive MS-62+ camp. There are a few deeper hits and too many hits in the most obvious places to go higher. The gash on the neck and the two gouges on the cheek drive the grade here.

The reverse is fantastic, and could well make MS-65. I don't see any reverse pulling a Morgan up more than a half step, so I could see this netting as MS-63 or on a good day MS-63+. Again, it's a nice 1899.
