1969-D Cent No FG Flating Roof - Coin Community Forum

KisNap Valued Member United States 487 Posts	Posted 08/30/2026 02:29 am I cam across this coin and noticed the D was very weak. What causes that? Grease Filled Die? Then I did a search on it and found that it may be a minor variety with no FG and a floating roof. Does it have any value? Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

The "No Roof" used to be a thing (early on)...but then it was discovered it was a very "common" thing because of the die polishing where it removed the pilers and the FG because clashes. CaptJeffWorthFL Valued Member United States 257 Posts	Posted Today 1H 5M ago So what exactly constitutes a 1969 D Memorial cent to be really designated as a No FG F.S. 901? I have a few that have no trace of the FG, No lines on the left or right connecting the roof to the Memorial. I have looked at several hundreds. I would almost think a full FG would be a variety LOL. 99% have a very weak FG or faint FG. I have only found 1 with a Full FG. Report this Post to the Staff
