Hello All, Thanks for looking. I picked up this coin in a local online auction. So the standard 1889 10c weighs 2.33 grams and is 1mm thick.

Mine is 3.43 grams and is 2mm thick. It is none metallic, and passes the silver ice test.

Google says its not possible to have a thicker and heaver coin and that it is counterfeit.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

It looks fake to me.

Certainly didn't leave the mint like that.
Possibly two dimes joined together. Looks like there may be a seam.

Looks fake to me.
1889 should be OBV 5
That coin has OBV 6
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
