Poll Question
Back in 2023, during the 118th Congress, I posted about a potential three-coin commemorative program to honor Arnold Daniel Palmer in 2029 (the Centennial of his birth). See it here: 2029 Arnold Daniel Palmer - Possible? #07. Palmer has been honored by the US Government previously. He received a Congressional Gold Medal in September 2012 (it was awarded by Congress in September 2009) in recognition of his service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship in golf. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004 from President George W. Bush. (The Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom are the two highest civilian honors awarded in the United States.) Palmer died on September 25, 2016; he was 87. The coin proposal did not emerge from the 118th Congress, and it has yet to be re-introduced in the 119th. But 2029 is still a few years off, and the year's two commemorative coin program slots have not yet been committed. The question: Do you think a Palmer coin bill will eventually be re-introduced in AND authorized by Congress?

If it is approved, it should be struck from half & half, Silver & Cupro  I think it has a chance  (the coin, not my bad pun) |

I'm glad you thought so, it was certainly intended in respectful good humor! I think there will always be, for the foreseeable future at least, interest in the man, Arnold Palmer, I voted yes as well. I am admittedly unfamiliar with the legal process, however, aside from what I've gleaned from commems' always excellent and informative posts  |

ok, ok, I know who the guy is, I just have no interest in Golf (yet) which gives me no interest if the coins are made or not. - (too bad there wasn't an option to indicate no interest

The thought of a commemorative coin honoring Arnie Palmer borders on the absurd. No offense, but really.
2029 is the centennial of MLK Jrs birthday, I assume that will probably rate a coin. I saw few other centennials in 2029 that I feel are coin worthy.

Gilly & Dearborn, while I wholeheartedly agree, if the mint is going to mint comic book character coins (etc.), might as well have an Arnold Palmer as well I'd love to see a changeup to circulating currency for those two you mention, in particular!
