I didn't see this one on CoC so sent some photos off.

This looks like a VLDS so maybe this Pre-BIE never formed into a full BIE before the die was retired.

Very nice example. Is it an rpm as well (north)? Your pics are so clear it looks like an extra curve between the upper serif and the curve.
The die crack @ E seems to run into the B and affected the lower portion.
I've become infatuated lately with coins exhibiting filled letters, numbers, or MMs (or partially filled).
This would be a fun one to come across for my collection because of the B,9, & 5!
The earliest filled MM ive come across is 1919s.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I think that is just lighting tricks on this BU coin.

I missed this first time around...super nice BIE you have! Cohen would call it an "associated" BIE since it does not fill the entire space between the B and E. Not sure actually how CoC will designate it but for sure it's worth a listing if not already there.
