Another RAM attempt to gouge money out of collectors due for release on 08 October. The ad says seven coins - five $1 coins and not clear on the other two. Maybe a proof $2 coin and another coloured $2 coin?

The ad says the five "ideas" will be featured on the $2 coin that will be released for circulation and apparently it will be coloured too. If so, that is going to be a very 'busy' design. It will be interesting to see what it looks like.

Of course, dealers are already advertising on ebay with grossly overpriced items. The first ad was posted only two minutes after the official email from the RAM was sent! Will it ever stop?

Sally, I think the coloured coin is the $1 Black Box coin.
Seems to be a few $1 coins with a 'Light Bulb' privy mark.

Thanks Jens for the link to the info about those coins. The designs sound like they might actually be interesting so it's a shame they aren't meant for circulation (if I understand it correctly? ).

I hope the RAM get the "black box" printed in bright orange (the actual colour of those boxes) rather than black. I wonder how they will print the colour on the coins though? The circular colours on the $2 coins are straightforward but printing a rectangle might pose some difficulty? Anyway we will see soon enough.

Some of the dealers advertising on ebay already are offering a colored $2 coin. I didn't see any mention of that on the "Currency Determination" - does anyone know if there is there one?

Also confused about the 7 coin sets offered for sale. There are 5 x $1 coins and one $2 coin; what is the 7th coin? I guess that we will find out on the 8th.

I will look for the circulated coin - the other 'tokens' are not worth the exorbitant prices the dealers are asking anyway. Happy hunting..
