CCFPress Press Manager United States 1420 Posts	Posted Yesterday 1:48 pm CAC - The 1839 Booby Head is a classic variety of Large Cents that features an odd stylistic choice: the final lock of hair wraps around the shoulder and up the bust. Collectors gave the "Booby" nickname because they associated its forward-leaning posture with the seabird Booby, known for its awkward, waddling gait. This obverse variety appears on six obverse dies across nine Newcomb varieties, making it relatively attainable. This coin was chosen for its wonderful originality and uniform surfaces.#8203; This piece is graded CAC AU58BN.
