Deb, congratulations on the new digicam! I'm also a new digicam owner as of this past April with a Canon S2 IS which has more functions on it than I'll ever use. It's also taking me a lot of time (five months so far) to figure out how it works and I haven't really gotten to coin photography yet although that was the major reason for the upgrade from my old Kodak DX2500. Now that I'm back in my winter feeding grounds, I hope to be able to set aside some time for serious coin photography.

I heard grey in one of the other numismatic photograph threads that is the only reason why I mentioned it . I think Bobby131313 might of been the person who had recommended it..

I'm liking the black background but, I think I'll try the grey and see if the coins turn out more silver than goldish looking. Ofcourse, some of that is my lighting. I'm still having a little trouble getting the zoom to zoom in close enough for details without blurring the pic. More practice is in order. Thanks all for your suggestions!
