The excuse was that the Treasury secretary has to set the annual mintage levels. I'm guessing the bullion strikes for Smoky Mountains will be released around then also. Late-March/April's gonna be expensive with the Baseball HOF coins coming out around the same time... |

I just saw some of the coin designs for 2015. They still didn't have one for the BlueRidge Parkway.

100 years from now, collectors of this series will be looking back at this series just as we are looking at the silver commemorative dollar series..... there will be some winner and some looser designs......

OK folks, the 2nd Quarter release dates have been scheduled. Includes the first three 5oz. ATBs, and they're about a month apart: 4-07 Great Smoky Mtns, 5-15 Shenandoah, 6-12 Arches. Great Sand Dunes is listed for August and Everglades for November.
Start saving your pennies...

Thanks Bizy for the info! I've been almost checking daily for these and it figures I take a day off searching for info and then there they are. I like that they are starting to sell them earlier and have a good spread to their release dates. I'm also looking forward to the Baseball HOF coins and the Kennedy sets. But I don't think my wallet will be too happy with me....haha. |

Just have say thanks to you, our American brothers and sisters for designing this awesome coin. I'm a lover of all animals, but the elk is especially high on my list, so I searched high and low for a Canadian coin with a real elk on it, but could not find. The ATB 5 ounce Olympic coin was the answer to a long search, so now I have one displayed on my mantel and many more in safe keeping for years to come..... Bullion Great Smoky Mountains available at APMEX for $129.90 as of this writing. Will be released by the Mint on Monday 17th, APMEX expects to have them by the 27th. Note that the bullion is just $9.55 less than the uncirculated coin at the subscription price. |
