ATB Five Ounce Silver Coins

Without the subscription discount we might see fewer P pucks sold in the near future. I see no reason to keep a subscription either. Now I can just bundle my orders and try and save on the shipping.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it back down to 25K.

And I guess, although I recd the email from the Mint about no more discounts, on their subscription page it shows Everglades still for the $139 price. I guess they have to update.

Too bad we cannot buy DIRECT the bullion versions....cry's foul....

Mint to demand for these pucks are an interesting phenomenon. 3 months to go and this year is shaping up to be another 2012. Silver is trending down and with three months left in the year (probably just six weeks left to mint whatever in anticipation of later sales though.)

There are some sleepers among the grouping this year, if you've been paying attention to sales:
Great Smoky Mtns: 24,725 vs 31,000
Shenandoah: 26,706 vs 21,000
Arches: 26,665 vs 21,800
Great Sand Dunes: 20,047 vs 10,500
First number is the unc P-puck, the second is the amount of bullion sold thus far to APs. The interest has been in the Mint sold product to collectors, seems the bullion pucks have kind of been overlooked. I don't foresee the bullion numbers growing that drastically since the APs will have to have funds to buy the Everglades puck late next month. With the price of silver at a four year low, the bullion pucks are a steal, and the ones I received this year so far have been well done.

@Teach: can't predict anything with these volatile commodities, however, lightning has struck once before in this series. 2013 bullion was probably oversold (just like 2011,) the first and last at 35,000 and the middle three at 30,000, four of them are at the normal markup, while the fifth, Mount Rushmore has a 110% premium over content currently. This overinflated percentage probably means that some big buyer has 50-70% of the entire run forcing whatever's in the market to overinflate. IMO, it's a great design quarter sized, but overkill in the puck. (Jefferson's nose !!)

As for 2014, the bullion has gone under the radar, very similar to 2012, quiet and under appreciated. Everyone seemed to focus on the P's because of the 10% discount. Savvy investors who bought into the Hawaii and Denali bullion pucks in 2012 got back a very nice return this year. I am really liking the Arches design in 3" and Sand Dunes isn't bad either, despite the presence of the people. If the Sand Dunes bullion stays sub-20K, that'll be the puck to watch.

Thanks for sharing your insight Bizy. I said the same thing when I received the M.R. puck, that has to be the biggest nose ever minted on a coin. I stopped buying the bullion after 2012 and I am thinking maybe I need to start looking at them a little harder now. With the price of silver I'm sure I could get the missing pucks at a decent price. The way it looks it might be some time before silver goes above 20 again.
