Looks like this series is no longer a best kept secret with more collectors buying these. It makes the earlier years more collectible and keep the values high. Three coins are still on 2-week back order (White Mountain & Great Basin), Fort McHenry is on 3-week back order. Sales so far for each are 20,363, 15,810, 15,586 & 15,709. Fort McHenry and White Mountain are on track to sell out to the max, maybe before the end of the year?
Bullion side is 35,000, 25,000, 25,000 & 25,000. Mint hasn't announced a sellout yet on the bullion, even numbers suggest that's all they made initially and inventory is depleted. Still more than 3 months to go and Mount Rushmore, so next couple of weeks should be interesting.

The price of silver is making these coins look good right now that is for sure. I'm glad I was able to get in on the ground floor when this started, just kind of a bummer that we had to pay so much for them in the beginning.....but that's how it goes. I can't wait to see the Rushmore coin. I hope they spread out the coins a little better next year. I guess they had to do what they had to do this year.

Wonder if that is all closing to along with the atrocity of the WWII memorial. I am sick about the happenings going on

There is an article here on the production as well: http://www.coinnews.net/2013/09/27/...ilver-coins/I didn't get in on the ground floor for these and kind of wish I had. That said, I think either version of the coin is going to have collectors. The difference is so distinct between the bullion and the P minted coins - that you'll have people prefer either one finish or the other.

A full set of 112 coins at 560 oz. Now that is a nice amount of silver.

Thanks Doug that was a good read. I like how they mention the coins look like hockey pucks at one point during the process :-)

I am waiting for the Mount Rushmore issue.
I'm sure it will sell out quickly due to the popularity of the monument / state park but I think the popularity will raise the value in the long run the same as the original 2001 Buffalo Silver dollar issue with a high mintage is still running $150+

@Doug58: It's not too late to get on the ground floor, there are only 15/30 coins so far for the three prior years and none of them are really out of range of a carefully managed budget. Like the article states a few of the bullion issues and a couple of the uncirculated can be had for less than original issue price. It will get to be overwhelming after 2014 when there will be at least 25 different issues or if they become more than $200 each ($40+/oz.) Now is a good time to put a couple away every month with silver in the low 20's. 2013s will be available and plentiful so If I were starting this series, I'd aim for the 2010s and 2012s first. With bullion you could get someone's impaired rejects particularly if they treated the coin as such. Get new issues as soon as possible directly from a trusted AP source such as APMEX or Provident Metals. It's a really rewarding series to collect and I've been saying so for about the last 2 1/2 years, finally collectors and silver investors are getting on board, and that's good for the series as a whole.

i really wouldn't worry about missing some of the earlier ATB's except of course for a few from last year. I would buy a duplicate and either trade it in or sell the duplicate and get the missing ATB down the line. No biggie. There is also a general correlation that usually works where if the stock markets go higher, gold and silver go lower. Stock markets still near all-time highs with silver and gold nowhere near their highs of the 2008/2009 crisis. Anyway, a lot of people are saying once this government standoff goes away, the markets will start climbing again and g/s prices might go even lower. Giving a good opportunity to pick up a few high quality limited minted pieces, but we'll see. Anyway, 1 month to go until the final piece to this year's ATB 5 oz puzzle is out and I'm excited! Can't wait for this one.

A total surprise. I thought that one had a shot at the hitting the 25,000 max. Guess the next two might not get there either, the last two seem to be a different story. Bullion WM is sold out too at 35,000.

I kind of wonder if this is the new "norm" for the pucks to sell out early before they hit the max. It seems like a trend happening here. Any word or thoughts on why this one ended early?
