Thanks Dave, yes it has quite a bit of red, but would still be, at best, a RB. A couple of years ago I did some attribution work for a local dealer on a large token lot he purchased and he gave me first choice, so this one came home with me.

Nice. How many CWTs do you have at present?

Currently I am about 80 or so. For Michigan town/cities I have 45 of 55, Jackson County, MI I have 10 of 28. The rest are miscellaneous Patriotic tokens. Just sold off some via the CWTS bid auction, that worked out very well. Nice easy process.

Sounds like you've got a plan to collect all the MI tokens. Very nice. My collection so far is @ 35 tokend, split evenly between store/merchant & patriotics. So far I have collected only AU or higher R1 & R2s, w/ the occasional R3 sprinkled in. Unfortunately, on a limited budget, I have to be very picky in my choices, so my purchases seem few & far between sometimes. But my limited collection is very nice so far. My journey into CWTs will continue

I am seeing fewer and fewer tokens that I am interested in, not surprising given how few I am actively seeking. With the higher rarity of the remaining pieces I also have to recognize that I may never run across some of them as well.

Quote: I am seeing fewer and fewer tokens that I am interested in, not surprising given how few I am actively seeking. I don't have that problem. My interest remains quite high, but my lack of abundant fun $$$, and the fact that it seems like the cost of tokens on E-Bay keeps steadily rising are hindering my collecting right now. I'm going to the Collect-O-Ram show in Lakeland, FL next Saturday. Paul Cunningham is always there, so hopefully he'll have something I like and can afford... Maybe you could e-mail me a list of what you still need and I can be looking for you?

Say hello to Paul for me. He lives about 30 miles from me here in Michigan. He may not recognize the name PennyGuy, but I'll the Bill that gives him digital pics of my Lincolnania. The next time I'll probably see him is the Fall MSNS convention.
Here is the list of Michigan town store cards I am still looking form Like you, there are examples that come on the market, but grade and price are well beyond my means. A good example is the outstanding token from Saranac, MI that Steve Hayden has for sale. A truly beautiful piece, most likely the finest known, but $6,500 is outside my budget.
Here are the Michigan tokens I am still looking for: Cassopolis MI 135 Chelsea MI 175 Lapeer MI 565 Litchfield MI 577 Manchester MI 588 Maple Rapids MI 595 Paw Paw MI 745 Saginaw City MI 845 Saranac MI 865 Schoolcraft MI 900
I have a lead on a Maple Rapids, should know more in a couple of weeks.

It's not a huge show, but there are usually a few dealers that have CWTs. You just never know...

@ Penny Guy, Was quite disappointed to find out Paul Cunningham did not make it to the Collect-O-Rama show. We got to the show and was a little surprised to see a mediocre turn-out to the show. There was really no energy in the room. Few CWTs available, but did end up finding an OH 165CJ-8a and an IND 550J-1a, both in AU and very reasonable, so I was quite happy w/ those

At least you found something. More and more I go to shows and come home with nothing. Oh well, it's nice to chat with friends.

Strictly speaking, I guess this doesn't fit in this thread -- but I thought many of you would enjoy seeing it.

Very interesting token. Thanks for sharing.
So, what does the "S" for his middle name stand for?
