Also what is it about this type of defect that gets them labeled variety? If it is just a issue of numbers found how many coins alike are needed to make it a variety? Report this Post to the Staff

DvntMstr Valued Member Canada 223 Posts	Posted 02/06/2012 03:18 am There are different causes for them. Some are a result of hub doubling, some are die chips, some die cracks. Some are recognized varieties, like the 64 extra spine, the 65 extra bud etc. As far as how many it takes to get that classification lm not sure but maybe someone else will know that. DvntMstr Valued Member Canada 223 Posts	Posted 05/04/2012 12:30 pm The one l am most proud of so fai is the '57 extra spine. After searching countless rolls l found 5 of them, all high grade but brown. I recently bought 5 more rolls of '57s (all BU) and found 4 more. So now l am up 9 of them found. As of yet l havent heard of anyone else finding one. I will try to post a better pic of it this weekend. Report this Post to the Staff
