Picked this up on Sunday. Early thin CGA holder before they designated paper quality; the paper wave is evident and the color just pops. I think it will make PMG 65 PQ - will cut and submit soon.  |

Just back from grading. A hard to find 1993 $1 Philadelphia Star note. I have only seen one other come up for auction in this grade, and that was back in 2010.  |

I am not a big currency collector but this is the oldest bill I've received in circulation in a long time. I cashed in $10 in small change this morning at my cashier for a $5 and 5 $1 and this was one of the $1 notes. It's a 1969B $1 FRN (Kabis/Connally) with a cool serial number to boot (B 88 11 44 66 C) and looks to be in decent shape with no tears or writing, just a slightly bent corner.  Thanks for looking. Thanks. I thought the S/N was pretty cool, so I'll put it in a currency sleeve and keep it.

I'll bet you're right about that. Yeah. It just seems too good to be true that you'd come across this in circulation for any other reason, doesn't it? Shame it got some wear on it after (likely) being in someone's collection for a few decades. edit: I'm sure there are many other possible reasons, but the cynic in me says this is the most likely scenario.
