Thank you all! That is a gorgeous Newfie, justanothercoinaddict!  I have had my eye open for one but have never run across any in person. Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Hondo B, this small show was not a place where I would have expected to find any Newfoundland coinage but, the seller had two $2 pieces in his inventory. The other one was cleaned.
Another seller had an 1888 Newfoundland fifty cent piece in an NGC VF35 holder which was a real beauty for the grade. I would have bought it if I didn't already have that date.
