Got some halves recently. The first one has really nice luster. The second one is interesting, too. It has a slight die rotation, perhaps 15 degrees. Is that common for Canadian halves? Are they worth more than bullion?

@ Amaths - those are nice halfs, I dont see them being worth WAY over the melt value, but they are slightly more.
Also the rotation is wont fetch too much of a premium, but you never know ;)
keep in mind that I'm new to numismatics....so I could be wrong

An upgrade for my birth year business strike set - I actually sniped it cheaper than anticipated. Of course it is a crap shoot, I only hope the reverse is as nice as that obverse.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/190753503554

Nice catch. Hope the reverse looks the same. With the elimination of the penny, this isba good buy...especially in such a high grade !

Amaths...nice halfs!
Send the second one in to ICCS as I bet it'll get an ms65.

Good Day - This is my first post since joining. Please find below my latest purchase from ebay. It is a double dated 1945-2005 Commemorative Silver Nickel. It is ICCS graded at PF-67 with Ultra Heavy Cameo. I just love this little Nickel. Not normally what I collect but anything to do with the great wars interests me. Hope you enjoy

Hey Glenzy....do you mind telling me if the 53 cent you picked up is a new slab or an old one (i.e., does it have a 3 letter prefix or a two letter prefix)? Last time I checked the population was only 3 or 4....I seem to have misplaced my report at present........I am wondering if this is a new one or if it the same one that was for sale on ebay maybe a year ago. PS to this....I may have answered my own question. I see the population was up to 6 last year. I know of three of them. Two are bright red, one with a hanging 3. A third is not attractive. I guess there are three others that were certified in 2011 for the 2012 report.

Hello smallcentguy, it's a 3 letter prefix. I just received the coin back from I.C.C.S. yesterday. It's a raw coin that an old time collector had at a show I attended last year last year. The coin was in a 2 x 2 marked Choice BU. Paid $20.00 for it. I knew it was a real Hot MS-65, however, when I started noticing more and few MS-66 being graded by I.C.C.S., I thought it would be worth submitting it. Guess it paid off! Glenn

Congrats on that one! The seller probably thought he did really well selling an uncertified 53 for $20....probably worth more like $200.
