Must be something in the air, and not pollen. Found 16 modern quarters in a local grocery store coinstar about an hour ago.

Well, I just scored a major jackpot earlier today at the store where I work today
In the reject bin, there were these coins:
12 40% half dollars, one 90% 1964-P, and a 1963-D silver dime, so about $77ish in melt...

I couldn't believe these were left behind!

Great finds, mrwhatsit!
I've just had my best-ever Coinstar haul. I went to my local supermarket and noticed some coins when I glanced into the reject tray of the Coinstar. I bent down, pretending to be sorting out my shopping bags, while I scooped the coins up. They felt heavy! When I got home, I sorted them out...

45 coins totalling £42.40 in face value, with 14 £2 coins and 26 50 pence coins, plus one of the obsolete round £1 coins, one 20p, one 10p and two 5p's!

Even better, there were three commemorative £2 coins - a 2006 Brunel in AU, an average circulated 2007 Abolition of Slavery and an immaculate near FDC scarce 2013 London Underground coin! Among the 50p's there were two 2006 Victoria Cross Medal coins (one virtually Unc). one 2006 Heroic Deeds (looks UNC), an average circulated 1998 NHS and a lovely virtually UNC 2003 Suffragettes which will go in my album to replace the EF one that's been in there for the past 20 years!

No silver, obviously (the UK issued its last silver coins in 1946 and all the old pre-decimal coins have been withdrawn) but this is easily my best Coinstar haul ever! British people tend to check the reject tray as we do have these high value 50p, £1 and £2 coins!

I had my best CoinStar finds haul in the last 6 months today: A complete set of 2012-D Lincoln Cents. It was stuck in the tray, I found it just as I was tapping in the screen to start my own dump of coins. Needless to say I have been on a bit of a dry spell.

I dumped the batch of the $74.66 of my 2024 change returns from prior posts as well as about $10 in coins from 2025 that I have received. When I counted my stash last night I had $84.21, but when I dumped I got $84.18, add the penny I found ant the count was off by 4 cents. My Apple account has now been replenished!

I suspect there was an even chance I miscounted, but either way being off by such a small amount is of little consequence. I have found CoinStar to be more accurate than I expected.
