Princetane Pillar of the Community 4628 Posts	Posted 08/02/2020 2:35 pm Every now and then a really nice coin comes a long, I can't afford it, but the dealer decides to let me have it at a nice discount. This is one such coin. A 1750 Half crown Close to fine and a nice clean piece. 1750 was the 2nd to last year for half crowns until 1816 (1751 is very scarce and 1750 is not that common either). Top row - 1821 gG, 1835 aVG, 1849 small date - gVG/aFine Bottom row - 1875 VG, 1878 gG, 1881 VG/VG+ Best of this motley lot is the 1849 Small date, cleaned - but a nice piece and quite scarce. I paid $95 NZD for it about £50 The rest cost between $15 and $45 (£8 - £25)each. Report this Post to the Staff

Has full cartwheel lustre and a super rainbow effect throughout both obverse and reverse. I think maybe more strike weakness than wear as the effect just wouldn't be uniform as it is with any wear on the coin. not a rare coin but just very much one for eye appeal.1946 .500 Silver half crown last issue for the silver coins.
